VidReef

How we protect your videos

Your videos are your business. Here's exactly how we keep them safe, available, and yours.

Stored to last

Your videos are stored on enterprise-grade cloud storage that keeps multiple copies across separate data centers and is designed for 99.999999999% durability. We keep your original upload, not just the streaming copies, in long-term archival storage, so the best version of every video is always there.

Backed up somewhere else

Every original is also copied, automatically and within minutes, to a separate, locked-down account in a different part of the country. That copy is independent of the systems that run VidReef, so it survives even a regional outage or a problem with our main account. Originals you delete stay in the backup for 90 days.

Mistakes can be undone

Deleted a video by accident? It goes to Recently deleted, where you can restore it for 30 days with its stats, captions, and embed settings intact. Behind the scenes, every stored file also keeps its previous version for 30 days.

Your account data, backed up nightly

Every night we export all account data (titles, descriptions, folders, captions, transcripts, settings, and analytics) to the same offsite backup, and keep 35 days of those exports.

Watched only where you allow

Videos play only on the sites you choose. Playback uses short-lived, signed links, so a copied video address stops working within hours, and your original files are never publicly reachable. Everything travels over HTTPS and is encrypted at rest.

Watched around the clock

We check the website, your dashboard, video playback, and uploads every minute, from a different region than the one VidReef runs in, so we know about a problem before you do. Background jobs raise an alert the moment one fails. Live status and 90 days of uptime history are on our status page.

Yours to take with you

Export your whole library whenever you want: every original file, captions, transcripts, thumbnails, and a spreadsheet of titles, folders, and embed codes. No lock-in, and no fee to leave.

Payments and passwords

Payments are handled by Stripe; we never see or store your card number. Passwords are stored only as secure one-way hashes.

An uptime commitment for Enterprise

Enterprise plans include a 99.9% monthly uptime commitment for video playback and the dashboard, backed by service credits. See our Terms or talk to us.
